About the role#
This research assistant position supports tenured Spanish faculty with ongoing projects in Spanish and Latin American studies. You will contribute to the next phase of research regarding DC Latinx language and identity, including the DCLLIP project. This is a part-time role for the Fall 2026 semester requiring 5 to 8 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist faculty with research in Spanish or Latin American studies.
- Conduct interviews for Spanish linguistics research on topics like language, identity, culture, and migration.
- Provide general support with writing, editing, and course development.
- Help with departmental program tasks and events.

- Must be an enrolled American University student.

- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
