About the role#
The Refai Research Assistant role supports faculty and staff with grant-funded research projects. You will gain practical experience in research methodology, data management, and project coordination while working under the guidance of a Principal Investigator. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility to accommodate your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research activities as directed by the project team.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize your findings.
- Collect, organize, and maintain research data and project records.
- Enter data into spreadsheets, databases, and other systems.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, and research materials.
- Support project administration by scheduling meetings and managing documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with university policies and research protocols.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous research experience is preferred.
- Experience with statistical software, data analysis, or research databases is a plus.
- Relevant coursework in the research subject area is also preferred.

- This position is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Work may be performed on-site or remotely depending on the needs of the project.
- The role is paid and follows a rolling application term.
