About the role#
The Student Worker for the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) provides administrative support and acts as the first point of contact for visitors. This role manages front desk operations, assists with office tasks, and helps coordinate events across campus. The position requires flexibility, as duties may include evening or weekend hours, standing for extended periods, and lifting light office supplies.
What you'll do#
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner.
- Answer and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Perform general office duties including filing, photocopying, and data entry.
- Create flyers, presentation slides, and other graphic materials.
- Provide occasional peer advising for study abroad programs.
- Set up and break down events held in the office and around campus.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the university.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Suite.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment and procedures.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Previous experience in customer service, administrative roles, or front desk management.
- Preferred: Familiarity with office management software and prior participation in a study abroad program.
