About the role#
This Professional Intern position offers hands-on experience in Student Affairs and Higher Education Administration. You will report to the Program Manager for Orientation and Access to support New Student Orientation and the College Enrichment Program. This work advances the university commitment to educational equity for first-generation, Pell-eligible, and rural students. You will help students navigate their transition to the university through orientation programming and year-round support initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Provide holistic academic transition support to undergraduate students, including help with course registration and university processes.
- Manage and communicate the New Student Orientation Task List to help incoming students complete onboarding steps.
- Serve as a core member of the New Student Orientation team, assisting with program planning, logistics, and on-site implementation.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and mentoring of NSO Leaders and Lobo Companions.
- Maintain accurate records and track student participation for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to strengthen support systems for first-year students.
