    About the role#

    This is a full-time Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op position at the BOSS Snowplow division of The Toro Company. The role runs from January 2027 through August 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the design and implementation of new products.
    • Create fixtures and tools for welding, assembly, and machine areas.
    • Support preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Lead or participate in one-week Rapid Improvement Kaizen events to refine processes.
    • Identify and solve problems within the plant.
    • Develop methods for standard work procedures.
    • Collaborate with design engineers to reduce costs and improve product quality.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, metal cutting, forming, painting, and assembly.
    • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
    • Experience with fixture design.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Pro-Engineer.
    • Experience with 3D CAD or Creo Parametric is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on completed schooling.
    • Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
