    About the role#

    This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in broadcast sports journalism at LEX18 in Lexington, Kentucky. Interns will work alongside the sports team to cover local athletics, with a focus on Kentucky Wildcats coverage. This role is designed for students in Journalism or Communications fields looking to build skills in sports broadcasting.

    What you'll do#

    • Gain exposure to the broadcast sports journalism industry.
    • Create content for broadcast and digital platforms.
    • Shoot, write, and edit sports content.
    • Develop professional skills based on the specific area of support.
    • Perform assigned duties as required.

    What you'll need#

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Strong desire to learn about the sports journalism industry.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
    • Ability to follow directions.

    • Location: Lexington, Kentucky.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
