    About the role#

    The News Producer Intern at WLEX will gain hands-on experience in a newsroom environment. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the broadcast news industry while working alongside producers, reporters, and anchors to create content for both broadcast and digital platforms.

    What you'll do#

    • Gain exposure to the broadcast news industry.
    • Write and create broadcast and digital content for WLEX.
    • Perform assigned duties related to the internship program.
    • Develop specific skills based on the area of support and other duties as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Strong desire to learn more about the broadcast journalism industry.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team.
    • Ability to follow directions.
    • Preferred academic background in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.

    • Location: Lexington, Kentucky (WLEX).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • This is an unpaid internship.
