About the role#
WLEX-TV is seeking a Summer Production Intern to gain hands-on experience in the broadcast television industry. This internship provides exposure to directing, technical directing, and studio operations within a live broadcast environment. This position is unpaid and intended for a limited duration.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to the broadcast television industry through daily assignments.
- Learn directing and technical directing operations in a live studio environment.
- Assist with studio production duties, including camera operation, audio, lighting, and graphics.
- Support the production team with newscast preparation and execution.
- Perform assigned duties as related to the internship.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong desire to learn about the broadcast industry.
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or Graphic Design.
