About the role#
This internship introduces students to the arboriculture industry through hands-on experience. You will gain exposure to tree care, climbing, chainsaw operation, plant health care, and client services. Interns are assigned a manager who provides mentorship and guidance throughout the program. You will work 40 to 50 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday with some Saturday work required.
What you'll do#
- Work on residential and commercial properties as well as in an office setting.
- Complete the CDP C Climber/Trimmer Career Development Booklet.
- Begin the Plant Health Care Career Development Booklet.
- Participate in monthly check-in calls to review your progress and meet company leaders.
- Utilize provided climbing gear, uniforms, and personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related discipline.
- A valid driver license. A commercial driver license is highly valued.
- Enthusiasm for arboriculture and a love for working outdoors.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Proven ability to be punctual and report for work regularly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
