About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring for a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Intern in Denver, Colorado. This is a full-time, paid position designed for students seeking hands-on field experience in tree care, plant health, and client services.
What you'll do#
- Work as a member of a tree crew.
- Learn to perform tree pruning and removal services.
- Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist with the removal of hazardous trees.
- Maintain and operate equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- A background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
- Relevant pesticide or related licenses and certificates are preferred.
