About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on field experience in tree care, plant health, and client services. You will work with a manager who mentors you through various job tasks across residential and commercial properties, as well as in an office setting. The program runs during the Winter and Summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of being a tree doctor.
- Gain experience with tree climbing, chainsaw operation, and plant health care.
- Provide customer service to our clients.
- Work toward completing the CDP C Climber/Trimmer Career Development Booklet.
- Complete the Plant Health Care Career Development Booklet.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license, though a commercial driver's license is highly valuable.
- A genuine interest in proper plant care and the outdoors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Houston, Texas.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour.
- Expect a 40 to 50 hour work week, typically Monday through Friday with some Saturdays.
