About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience in the green industry. You will work alongside experienced arborists, climbers, and plant health care technicians to maintain the health and beauty of trees and landscapes. The program includes exposure to daily operations, business management, and leadership fundamentals within a residential tree care office.
What you'll do#
- Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, and bracing.
- Assist with tree and landscape installation.
- Operate equipment safely, including chainsaws and chippers.
- Conduct plant health care tasks such as deep root fertilization, soil care, and pest management.
- Deliver service to clients and support office operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently studying arboriculture, urban forestry, natural resources, horticulture, landscape design, forestry, or a related discipline.
- A valid driver’s license is required; a commercial driver’s license is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for proper plant care and the outdoors.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 to 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
