About the role#
The Technology Development Program AI Engineering track is a 12-week summer internship designed to build technical skills in a healthcare setting. Interns contribute to the Artificial Intelligence track by developing technical solutions, participating in team projects, and engaging in a structured curriculum. This program focuses on professional growth through mentorship, networking, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Build technical solutions within the Artificial Intelligence track to drive innovation.
- Collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners on hands-on projects.
- Participate in recruiting support, innovation efforts, and community initiatives.
- Complete core and track-specific training to support development as a technologist.
- Build professional relationships through networking and mentorship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related degree program.
- Foundational understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning concepts.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with machine learning or generative AI libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or Hugging Face.
- Proficiency in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and visualization using Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.
- Exposure to model evaluation, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, large language models, or responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Hadoop.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Location & details#
- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring three days per week onsite.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, beginning May 24, 2027.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour.
- Note: This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
