About the role#
The Health Service Leadership Development Program Summer Associate internship is a 10-week experience for graduate students. You will own high-impact projects tied to enterprise priorities while gaining exposure to senior leadership at The Cigna Group. This is a full-time, paid position designed for those interested in healthcare strategy, operations, and product innovation.
What you'll do#
- Lead a high-impact project in areas such as healthcare strategy, product innovation, or operations.
- Use structured thinking to assess business opportunities, analyze data, and recommend solutions.
- Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to communicate risks and progress.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and analytics to improve project outcomes and decision quality.
- Build your leadership presence through networking, peer collaboration, and final presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA, MPH, or MHA program.
- At least 3 years of professional experience prior to graduate school.
- Demonstrated leadership in professional, academic, military, or community settings.
- Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
- A clear interest in healthcare and improving health outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools or analytics to drive productivity.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomfield, CT.
- Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office and two days remote.
- Term: Summer 2027, from May 24 through July 30.
- Compensation: $50-$52 per hour with provided housing.
- Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States permanently and cannot require sponsorship.
