About the role#
This internship program offers students a chance to build analytical skills and business acumen within the PBM Finance Underwriting team. You will support the financial health of the organization while learning how we meet our commitments to customers. This is a paid, part-time summer opportunity for students interested in a career in underwriting.
What you'll do#
- Complete foundational training in underwriting concepts, pricing, and business strategy.
- Apply your academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios.

- Develop your ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree and have completed 3 years of study in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Comfort working with math and numbers.
- A problem-solving focus with a customer-centric mindset.
- Demonstrated learning agility and a desire to grow through experimentation.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Morris Plains, New Jersey, or Bloomfield, Connecticut.
- The role is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days of in-person work per week.
- The program term is Summer 2027, with a start date of May 24, 2027.
- Selected candidates must complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days before the start date, including a drug test.
