About the role#
The Client & Customer Experience (C&CE) team manages services for Cigna customers across US Medical and Pharmacy Benefits. As a Business Analytics Intern, you will support critical analytical work that shapes our strategic priorities. You will work closely with operational partners to complete 1-2 assigned business case projects. This role involves developing analytical insights and sharing presentations that influence future strategy.
What you'll do#
- Develop 1-2 business cases to evaluate options and assess costs and benefits.
- Solve business problems by identifying data needs, pulling data from relevant sources, and performing analysis.
- Identify business opportunities through trend analysis and mining operational data.
- Distill complex work into presentations that inform and guide strategy.
- Identify and assess potential opportunities for change over the next 3-5 years.
- Evaluate business opportunities and make strategic recommendations.
- Partner across Operations, Tech, Finance, and other business teams.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to structure project plans and manage deadlines independently.
- Ability to partner across organizations to influence and deliver work.
- Advanced knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools like Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
- Proficiency in an analytics-focused coding language such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience with building, managing, or using business models.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship located in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
- The role is a full-time position for Summer 2027.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week starting May 24, 2027.
- This position is paid.
- Sponsorship is not provided for this role. You must be eligible for employment in the United States without requiring visa support now or in the future.
- Summer housing is available for interns living more than 50 miles from the Bloomfield office.
