About the role#
The AI Innovation Development Program (AIIDP) is a full-time summer internship designed for undergraduate students. You will explore how AI-powered solutions are developed, tested, and applied within healthcare and business environments. This role provides hands-on experience in turning ideas into functional solutions while working alongside experienced professionals in the AI Innovation Office.
What you'll do#
- Assist with building and testing AI-powered or data-driven solutions.
- Analyze data to identify patterns and surface potential opportunities.
- Contribute to data exploration, testing, documentation, and solution refinement.
- Participate in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and project updates.
- Learn how to evaluate opportunities, manage risk, and measure the impact of AI tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar programming and analytics tools.
- Experience using generative AI tools through coursework, projects, or hackathons.
- Exposure to programming, data analysis, or technical problem-solving.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Raleigh, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027 (starts May 24, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid. Interns are expected to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour.
- Note: This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
