About the role#
This 10-week summer internship at Evernorth Health Services offers hands-on experience within the regulatory environment of healthcare and pharmacy benefits management. You will work with teams to support compliance, operational excellence, and client success. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects that strengthen regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze healthcare and regulatory information to identify potential impacts, risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Support audit preparation and case research by gathering information, validating findings, and documenting outcomes.
- Collaborate with teams on audit support, grievances, clinical consultation, coverage determination, and regulatory processes.
- Participate in health plan and regulatory forums to understand industry changes.
- Research and respond to client or business requests related to regulatory impacts and process improvement.
What you'll need#
- Rising senior status progressing toward a bachelor degree in public health, healthcare administration, health policy, regulatory affairs, or business.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience demonstrating analytical, organizational, or problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with data analytics, automation, or digital tools through academic or professional projects.
Location & details#
- Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
- Modality: Hybrid schedule, with three days per week in the office and two days remote.
- Term: Summer 2027, running from May 24 through July 30, 2027.
- Compensation: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Remote work requires a cable broadband or fiber optic connection with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.
