About the role#
The Church History Department is hiring an intern to work at the Church History Library in Salt Lake City. This is a paid, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Interns must be currently enrolled in an educational institution or have graduated within the last year. You will be required to sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
What you'll do#
- Process, arrange, describe, and catalog digital and analog acquisitions.
- Create catalog entries and collection registers.
- Assist with the management of varied workflows.
- Learn and apply department record access policies.
- Review the cataloging work of other team members.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or current enrollment in a degree program, in history, library science, international studies, genealogy, or a related field.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong editorial, oral, and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and apply industry standards.
- Dependability and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at the Church History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Employment is limited to members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend.
