About the role#
As a Sales & Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how retail operations function and what is required to excel in management. This role focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and store operations. You will complete modules from the management manual, provide weekly progress reports, and take ownership of specific product categories to set goals and track results.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide service by recommending merchandise based on their needs.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals.
- Build and maintain long-term guest relationships to support a client-based business.
- Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and handle daily transactions.
- Perform merchandising tasks including handling freight, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns.
- Provide feedback to the Store Manager and leadership team regarding merchandise handling concerns.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics for specific departments like denim, shoes, or accessories.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Psychology from a four-year college or university.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
