About the role#
Simple Modern is seeking a Sales Development Intern to join our Custom Sales team for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers hands-on experience in business development, prospecting, and relationship building. You will focus on outbound efforts, including cold calling and email outreach, to help identify and qualify potential new customers. This position is based on-site in Moore, Oklahoma.
What you'll do#
- Research and identify potential new customers.
- Make outbound cold calls and send personalized emails to prospects.
- Use various outreach methods to connect with potential clients.
- Learn and apply effective prospecting techniques.
- Initiate conversations to understand customer business needs and determine if they are a good fit for our products.
- Identify decision-makers and key contacts within target organizations.
- Communicate the value of our custom products and capabilities.
- Schedule qualified meetings for the sales team.
- Maintain accurate prospect data and document all interactions in Salesforce.
- Keep prospect lists organized and track your daily and weekly outreach activity.
- Help identify trends and opportunities within your prospecting work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for business, marketing, communications, sales, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort with talking to new people and making cold calls.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to be coachable and receptive to feedback.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple follow-ups.
- Ability to stay productive and self-motivated while working independently.
- Resilience and the ability to handle rejection professionally.
- A competitive, results-oriented mindset.
- Previous sales or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
