About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail business management. This role focuses on delivering a positive shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in leadership, recruiting, and store operations. You will manage a specific product category, set sales goals, and track your progress throughout the internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering and merchandise display.
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Develop an understanding of Buckle products and the sales presentation process.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Marketing.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays.
