About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while learning the fundamentals of retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand Buckle’s business operations and develop leadership skills. This role involves completing specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, providing weekly progress reports, and taking ownership of a specific product category to track sales goals and team performance.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with an engaging attitude and provide excellent service throughout the store.
- Help guests find and obtain merchandise, suggest additional items, and assist with fitting room needs.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Achieve personal sales goals set by management.
- Assist with merchandising tasks, including handling freight, preparing displays, and maintaining a clean, organized store.
- Open and close cash registers, process payments, and balance cash drawers.
- Manage a product category by setting goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Ability to provide legendary customer service and demonstrate strong sales and merchandising knowledge.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift or maneuver up to 50 pounds.
