About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports the store mission by creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail business, merchandising, and store operations. This role involves completing specific training modules from the Buckle Management Manual, managing product categories, and providing regular progress updates to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide personalized service.
- Help guests try on or fit merchandise and suggest additional items.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Open and close cash registers, perform cash handling tasks, and process transactions.
- Manage product categories by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Provide feedback to the Store Manager regarding merchandise handling and operational concerns.
- Assist with visual merchandising, including handling freight and preparing displays.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service orientation.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
