About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining a comprehensive understanding of retail business operations. Interns work closely with the Store Manager to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills. This role involves completing sections of the Buckle Management Manual, providing weekly progress reports, and taking ownership of specific product categories to set goals and track results.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide service throughout the store.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, and product ranges.
- Assist guests with fitting merchandise and provide wardrobing recommendations.
- Perform merchandising tasks including handling freight, re-merchandising, and preparing displays.
- Manage cash registers, process transactions, and maintain store cleanliness.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics for specific departments such as denim, accessories, or footwear.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned management projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field of study.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
