About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports store operations while learning the fundamentals of retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business functions and what is required to lead a team. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Springfield, Missouri.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Recommend merchandise and help guests locate items based on their needs.
- Demonstrate products using your sales education and product knowledge.
- Share updates on current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Manage cash registers, including counting money and using magnetic card readers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store environment.
- Complete orientation and leadership modules from the management manual.
- Provide weekly progress reports to area and district management.
- Take ownership of a specific product category by setting goals and tracking results.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Human Resources.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- No prior experience or training is required.
