About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works closely with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business operates. You will gain experience in management by completing modules from the Buckle Management Manual, providing progress reports to leadership, and taking ownership of specific product categories. This role is designed to help you build skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team leadership.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide helpful service to create an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and keep the store organized.
- Maintain and share information about current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Handle operational tasks including opening and closing cash registers, counting money, and processing transactions.
- Manage a product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or a relevant field.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store.
