About the role#
The Aerospace Corporation is hiring Software Engineering Undergraduate Interns for the Software Implementation and Integration Department. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Chantilly, Virginia, or El Segundo, California. You will work with interdisciplinary teams on research and technical programs while receiving training and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement software for a simulated space system.
- Develop prototype software in Python, Java, and C for simulated space and ground elements.
- Collaborate with academic partners on ongoing technical research.
- Apply standard engineering techniques to complete assigned scientific and technical tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside of your university term.
- Ability to return to your degree program full-time after the internship ends.
- Programming experience in Python, C, C++, or Java.
- Familiarity with cloud computing services like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as this role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Submission of academic transcripts.
- Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or higher, an active TS/SCI clearance, and experience with agile software development.

- Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.
