About the role#
The Navigation and Positioning Architectures Section develops and maintains technical capabilities in modeling, simulation, and analysis. This internship focuses on requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives, and performance evaluation for navigation and positioning systems. You will work with staff and management to address technical challenges and support recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience in geolocation, PNT architecture analysis, GNSS, and jamming and spoofing.
- Perform architecture evaluation modeling to assess overall performance using in-house or custom tools.
- Work with staff and management to translate customer needs into project objectives.
- Provide technical evaluations and develop reports and presentations to communicate analysis results.
- Aid in the sustainment and growth of analysis and simulation capabilities.
- Participate in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree completed and currently enrolled full-time in a Master's or Ph.D. program in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field.
- Alternatively, senior class standing and enrolled in a graduate STEM degree program beginning Fall 2027.
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of the university term.
- Ability to return to a Master's or Ph.D. program after the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Familiarity with Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, personal accountability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Locations: El Segundo, CA; Chantilly, VA; or Colorado Springs, CO.
- Work Modality: On-site or hybrid (requires a minimum of 4 days on-site in El Segundo).
- Compensation: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour.
