    About the role#

    The Digital Systems Engineering Department works on digital system models, digital threads, and digital twin capabilities across the systems engineering lifecycle. As a graduate intern, you will contribute to research, prototyping, and independent assessments that help customers build complex space and defense systems. This role is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Build, validate, and simulate digital system models for space, ground, and launch architectures.
    • Develop complex queries and AI applications to extract information from digital system models.
    • Assist in federating digital system models with mechanical, structural, electrical, and software engineering models to create end-to-end digital threads.
    • Create virtual twin system models that interact with physical twins through live telemetry updates.

    What you'll need#

    • Current full-time enrollment in an accredited graduate program pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
    • A completed B.S. degree by the start of the internship and proof of enrollment in a graduate STEM program for Fall 2027.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Foundational knowledge of simulation tools like Cameo Simulation Toolkit, MATLAB, Simulink, SimEvents, or ModelCenter.
    • Familiarity with descriptive modeling languages such as UML, SysML, or UAFML and modeling tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or Rhapsody.
    • Understanding of modeling methodologies including OOSEM, MagicGrid, or SysMod.
    • Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks and return to your graduate program after the internship.
    • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
    • Submission of academic transcripts.

    • Compensation: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour.
