    About the role#

    Thales Canada is looking for an intern or co-op student to support the Engineering Change (EC) process for the AJISS program. You will work with the System Engineering and Engineering Delivery Manager teams to improve efficiency and reporting for projects supporting the Royal Canadian Navy fleet.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the development and documentation of the Engineering Change process using the System Engineering V-Model.
    • Build and maintain tools to track the progress of engineering changes.
    • Create and deliver training materials regarding new processes and tools.
    • Provide engineering support during the problem definition, investigation, and design phases.
    • Develop conceptual designs and solutions for ship modifications while documenting top-level agreements.
    • Ensure engineering data flows correctly to Integrated Product Team members.
    • Assist with the verification and validation of electronic systems.
    • Support risk management and mitigation strategies.
    • Help obtain stakeholder agreement on system requirements and changes.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited university.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats for reports and customer interactions.
    • Experience with the Systems Engineering Life Cycle.
    • Strong planning, task management, and analytical skills.
    • Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
    • Programming or scripting experience in languages such as VBA or C#.
    • Ability to obtain a Canadian Enhanced Reliability security clearance and a NATO Secret Level clearance.
    • Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and authorization for access to technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, ITAR, and EAR.
