    About the role#

    This is a 16-month co-op term for a Manufacturing Engineering student. You will work within the Operations Engineering department to support product development and build processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret technical information, recommend solutions, and ensure products meet quality standards. This role requires a commitment to a 16-month term.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead and participate in mechanical engineering projects of moderate scope.
    • Provide mechanical design analysis and testing support for new and existing products.
    • Participate in design reviews and support verification and validation of new product designs.
    • Partner with the Mechanical Frontline team to resolve technical issues.
    • Use engineering methods and best practices to solve problems.
    • Capture and analyze data related to estimating accuracy and cycle times.
    • Create and maintain Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs).
    • Support documentation changes including service procedures, Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
    • Review and implement change requests from engineering and mechanical staff.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a university Mechanical Engineering program and good standing in an accredited co-op program.
    • Experience with a solid modeling CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills with experience or coursework in mechanical design.
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
    • Familiarity with electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
    • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Eligibility to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
    • A self-starter mindset with strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
