About the role#
Thales is looking for a Computer Science student to join the team in Ottawa. You will support the Engineering Change process for the AJISS program, which maintains Royal Canadian Navy platforms. This role focuses on improving data flow, building tracking tools, and creating reporting dashboards to help the engineering team monitor project progress.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate data flow within the Engineering Change process to optimize engineering tools.
- Extract data from various toolsets using APIs to create a centralized repository.
- Build and maintain PowerBI dashboards for project reporting.
- Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets using PowerBI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Develop tools to track and monitor the progress of Engineering Change projects.
- Create and deliver training materials regarding the Engineering Change process and associated tools.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Science program at an accredited university.
- Proficiency in data management and dashboard creation.
- Experience with PowerBI, Power Query, and data extraction.
- Programming or scripting experience in languages such as VBA or C#.
- Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills.
- Clear oral and written communication skills for documentation and team interaction.

- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 CAD annual market range.
- Requirements: This position requires a positive Controlled Goods assessment and the ability to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret Level security clearance.
