About the role#
The Encore Program is a paid, 12-week internship designed for professionals returning to the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This role provides exposure to complex tax issues within a multinational, publicly traded company. Participants are treated as contributors from day one, collaborating with teams to solve real problems and improve processes. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time employment upon completion of the program.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of complex federal and state income tax returns.
- Participate in tax compliance tasks, including calculations for fixed assets, stock compensation, and R&D credits.
- Manage inputs and tie-outs within tax compliance software.
- Assist with federal and state quarterly estimated payment, extension, and provision processes.
- Research technical tax issues and communicate implications clearly.
- Participate in tax planning activities and special projects to support cash and tax rate benefits.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to streamline tax functions.
- Support efforts to defend tax filings during IRS audits.
What you'll need#
- A career break of at least two years.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least two years of accounting or tax-adjacent work experience.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
