About the role#
The Student Development Specialist II joins the Student Media team within Student Life. This position acts as a secondary adviser for The Battalion newspaper, The Aggieland yearbook, and the Maroon Life yearbook. You will help guide student leaders, oversee budgets, and support the daily operations of these media organizations.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a secondary adviser to three student media organizations.
- Help oversee student organization budgets and expenditures.
- Collaborate with student staffers in news, advertising, production, and distribution.
- Assist the student-led business team with the sale of advertising and yearbooks, including billing and inventory control.
- Provide leadership development opportunities and ensure students receive proper training.
- Support the Associate Director with the production of online, print, and magazine content.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience in student affairs or a related specialty.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite.
- Familiarity with online and multimedia platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.
