About the role#
This position supports the Controlled Environment Agriculture Entomology program at Texas A&M Agrilife Research. You will work in the lab, greenhouse, and high tunnel to maintain insect colonies and assist with research tasks.
What you'll do#
- Manage the husbandry and maintenance of insect colonies, including whiteflies, thrips, aphids, ladybugs, and big-eyed bugs.
- Prepare materials and supplies for ongoing insect experiments.
- Assist with data collection and experiment cleanup.
- Complete miscellaneous tasks in the lab or greenhouse as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university or community college.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Attention to detail and good organizational habits.
- Ability to manage your time and work independently.
- Previous experience with insects and vegetable plants is preferred.
- Some supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
