About the role#
The Student Financial Aid Counselor II provides daily case management and counseling to students and their parents. You will help families navigate financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and payment options. This role involves working as part of the CARE team to develop communication plans and policies that support university goals. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Provide personalized support to students regarding financial aid applications, verification, and document completion.
- Conduct outreach through phone calls, emails, and text campaigns to assist with billing, renewals, and refunds.
- Lead Financial Aid 101 workshops, literacy trainings, and other campus events.
- Collaborate with academic advisors and other departments to help students meet satisfactory academic progress requirements.
- Work with leadership to identify needs for outreach programs and suggest process improvements.
- Facilitate non-credit financial literacy courses in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- At least one year of experience in higher education, specifically in financial aid, admissions, or case management.
- Knowledge of financial aid regulations, verification processes, and counseling techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage high volumes of work.
- Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and through verbal interaction.
