About the role#
Residential Student Technicians support the daily operations of the Office of Housing and Residence Life at Prairie View A&M University. You will help maintain a safe and welcoming community for students, faculty, and guests. This role involves a variety of tasks including office administration, facility support, and event assistance.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
- Manage front desk operations, answer phones, and respond to general housing inquiries.
- Assist with residence hall move-in, move-out, and seasonal closing processes.
- Support departmental, social, and educational events, including event space set-up and tear-down.
- Report safety, maintenance, or operational concerns to professional staff.
- Complete special projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and university policies.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Prairie View A&M University student.
- Eligibility for Federal Work-Study is required.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and good disciplinary standing.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- A dependable and professional approach to independent and collaborative work.
