About the role#
As a Flight Engineering Intern, you will support our flight operations and engineering teams. You will work on-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to assist with data analysis, regulatory coordination, and technical testing. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze surface weather and stratospheric wind predictions to distribute reports.
- Coordinate with the FAA and maintain an understanding of FAA Regulation Part 101 for Unmanned Free Balloons.
- Monitor platform health, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze operational data.
- Provide hands-on support during engineering tests.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation at the end of your internship.
- Apply the guiding principles of Aerostar to your daily work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a STEM degree program.
- Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills for working with team members and leadership.
- Prior experience in aviation or the military is preferred.
