About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based at our Last Mile Distribution Center in Elmhurst, Illinois. As an Operations Manager Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in supply chain leadership. You will work alongside mentors and managers to learn how to lead a team, drive operational results, and understand the daily functions of a distribution facility.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support daily operations by working directly alongside team members on the facility floor.
- Track key performance indicators including safety, teamwork, quality, and productivity.
- Conduct audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team leaders to set goals, expectations, and plan daily shift objectives.
- Carry out process improvement initiatives using continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead daily team meetings and provide performance feedback to team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience in leadership roles through school or extracurricular activities.
- A strong interest in retail and supply chain operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to learn continuously.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to access all areas of the facility.
