About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, 40-hour per week, hands-on training experience designed to prepare you for a future in retail leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside mentors and store managers to understand how the business functions, spend time on the sales floor, and learn how to lead teams to achieve operational goals.
What you'll do#
- Lead and align team members on daily business priorities.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring the team is knowledgeable and helpful.
- Partner with store leaders to coach team members and provide performance feedback.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles to ensure smooth daily workflows.
- Participate in daily huddles with the leadership team to set goals and summarize results.
- Work alongside your mentor to gain a deep understanding of retail management.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.
- Review business reports and guest insights to identify and troubleshoot areas for improvement.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
- Ability to manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or Human Resources.
