About the role#
The Subsurface Operations team at Tallgrass manages the design, implementation, and monitoring of Class VI injection wells and gas storage projects. This internship provides exposure to real-world energy infrastructure projects and mentorship from industry professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of subsurface data.
- Support the design and optimization of injection and storage wells.
- Participate in field drilling operations and data collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Present subsurface data and project results to technical, peer, and management audiences.
- Learn how gas storage fields and CO2 wells operate, including the data collection and analysis required for safe and productive operations.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an approved Petroleum Engineering degree program.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic understanding of subsurface engineering principles.
- Proficiency in software tools like Petrel or Eclipse is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Lakewood, Colorado.
- The program runs for 10 weeks during Summer 2027, from May through August.
- This position is paid, with an hourly range of $26.18 to $37.09 depending on experience and qualifications.
- The compensation package may include paid time off and a housing stipend.
