    About the role#

    The Subsurface Operations team at Tallgrass manages the design, implementation, and monitoring of Class VI injection wells and gas storage projects. This internship provides exposure to real-world energy infrastructure projects and mentorship from industry professionals.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of subsurface data.
    • Support the design and optimization of injection and storage wells.
    • Participate in field drilling operations and data collection.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
    • Present subsurface data and project results to technical, peer, and management audiences.
    • Learn how gas storage fields and CO2 wells operate, including the data collection and analysis required for safe and productive operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment in an approved Petroleum Engineering degree program.
    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Basic understanding of subsurface engineering principles.
    • Proficiency in software tools like Petrel or Eclipse is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Lakewood, Colorado.
    • The program runs for 10 weeks during Summer 2027, from May through August.
    • This position is paid, with an hourly range of $26.18 to $37.09 depending on experience and qualifications.
    • The compensation package may include paid time off and a housing stipend.
