About the role#
The Health & Safety Department for Capital Projects manages safety across project work. This role supports the team in maintaining a safe environment for employees and contractors at our Houston office. You will gain exposure to OSHA standards, safety culture systems, and predictive safety analytics.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing contractor safety standards for the management of change program.
- Enter and track project safety data to produce reports for analysis and intervention strategy development.
- Help organize and conduct contractor safety roundtables.
- Support project inspections and investigate incidents.
- Review health and safety plans provided by contractors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Industrial Engineering, Public Health, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Emergency Management, or Organizational Effectiveness.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
- Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail regarding reports, safety analytical trends, and data tracking.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Smartsheet.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Houston, Texas.
- The term is for Summer 2027, running from May through August for 10 weeks.
- This position is paid.
