Co-Op- System Engineer

About the role#

The System Engineer Co-Op joins the Customer Operations organization to support the day-to-day performance of robotic material handling systems. This role focuses on maintaining system health, troubleshooting operational issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure warehouse automation efficiency and safety.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot advanced system and operational issues.
• Monitor the health of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles.
• Document and report technical issues to engineering teams and assist in developing solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to site teams and customers.
• Participate in continuous improvement and standardization initiatives for warehouse automation.
• Ensure daily compliance with safety commitments, including OSHA and site-specific procedures.
• Assist with physical tasks such as light maintenance, operating robotic equipment, and moving items as required.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience assembling, operating, and troubleshooting robotics and electro-mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with or a willingness to learn: PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Robotics (ABB), and software languages (SQL, Linux, Python).
• Strong written, verbal, and visual presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in restrictive areas of 24 inches.
• Capable of working in temperatures ranging from 32° to 105° Fahrenheit.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours and lift up to 60 lbs.
