Co-Op- System Engineer

About the role#

The Systems Engineer Co-Op joins the Customer Operations organization to support the daily performance of robotic material handling systems. This role focuses on maintaining system health, troubleshooting operational issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient warehouse automation.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot advanced system and operational issues.
• Monitor the health of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to site teams and customers.
• Document and report issues to engineering teams, working together to develop solutions.
• Assist with escalations to resolve production-impacting problems.
• Participate in continuous improvement and standardization initiatives for warehouse automation.
• Ensure daily compliance with safety commitments, including OSHA and customer-specific procedures.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and a willingness to learn additional technologies like ABB robotics, SQL, Linux, and Python.
• Hands-on experience assembling, operating, and troubleshooting robotics and electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks, including light maintenance, operating equipment, and moving items weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to work in environments ranging from 32° to 105° Fahrenheit and at heights up to 45 feet.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours and perform tasks involving bending, twisting, climbing, and repetitive movement.
