About the role#
STV is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position provides an opportunity to work alongside our engineering team on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to construction observation.
What you'll do#
- Support pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Assist with pump calculations and the development of system curves for pump sizing.
- Prepare design and construction cost estimates.
- Participate in the planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
- Gain exposure to project management, business development, and client interactions.
- Visit project sites during the design and construction phases.
- Review construction shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Interest or experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities.
- Familiarity with modeling, design software, or other production tools.
- Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship.
