About the role#
STV is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Virginia Beach. You will work alongside our experienced team on infrastructure projects. We prefer candidates who can commit to at least three months of work and attend the office at least three days per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing projects from the initial concept through to completion.
- Help conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, project narratives, and development applications.
- Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Use engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop designs.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Learn and apply current engineering standards to your daily tasks.
- Assist with the preparation of technical proposals and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Familiarity with software like MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Open Roads Designer.
- Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.
