The Public Programs Intern will join the Learning & Engagement Department to support the development and execution of public-facing museum initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arts administration while observing the collaborative workflows required to produce artist talks, workshops, screenings, and performances. Interns will participate in meetings and workshops focused on contemporary museology and engage with various museum departments.
What you'll do#
- Support the Public Programs team in curating and delivering accessible, art-inspired experiences.
- Conduct independent research to assist in the development of public programs and partnerships.
- Coordinate program operations and interface with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Gain practical experience in arts administration and the production of seasonal programming.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in arts administration and knowledge of contemporary museology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in research and writing.
- Ability to multitask and work independently on assigned projects.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – December 18, 2026).
- Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Interns must work on-site three days per week, with Tuesdays being mandatory.
- Compensation: A stipend of $5,040 is provided for the 14-week program.
