The Graphic Design Intern will join the Communications Department to support creative production and maintain the Studio Museum’s brand and visual identity. Working alongside the design team, you will learn to implement institutional design systems and ensure brand consistency across various audience touch points. This role is intended for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates pursuing careers in design, digital marketing, or arts communications.
What you'll do#
- Produce brand-aligned assets for diverse channels, with a focus on digital content.
- Manage design initiatives through project management.
- Organize and maintain design files.
- Collaborate with museum staff on meaningful projects and participate in workshops focused on contemporary museology.
What you'll need#
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- An aptitude for visual storytelling and a passion for current trends in the design and art world.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Majors in Graphic Design, Communications, Art, or Media Studies are preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – December 18, 2026).
- Commitment: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Interns must work on-site three days per week, with Tuesdays being mandatory.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a stipend of $5,040.
- Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
