Graphic Design Internship

About the role#

The Graphic Design Intern will support the creation of print and digital assets that promote exhibits, programs, and events. This role provides hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, allowing the intern to strengthen design skills and build a professional portfolio while supporting the museum's mission.

What you'll do#

• Create engaging designs that adhere to the Marbles brand identity and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Graphics Team and other departments to support the creation of original designs.
• Support the Graphics Team on internal graphic requests and projects.
• Assist with the installation of graphics and signage fabrication for exhibits, events, and programming.
• Attend and participate in Graphic Team meetings.

What you'll need#

• Must be enrolled in a formal education class that requires an internship for academic credit.
• Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Art, Media Studies, or a closely related field.
• Experience working with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required; experience with Creative Cloud products is preferred.
• Excellent creative, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, and bending, in addition to prolonged periods of desk work.

• Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: Weekdays between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Status: Unpaid, full-time internship.
